Sighisoara is one of the most important tourist attractions in Romania. The medieval walls of the medieval citadel, the streets full of history or the house where supposedly was born Vlad Tepes, known worldwide as the Dracula - these are just a few reasons why, in 2009, Sighisoara received from Switzerland the prize "The Medieval Jewel of Romania".
To highlight the beauty of this city of Transylvania, every year, in late July, the medieval citadel of Sighisoara is organized a very special event. It's about Medieval Festival of Sighisoara, the largest festival of its kind in Romania. Annually, tens of thousands of tourists from the country and abroad participating at the unique event held in Sighisoara, a city considered to be the "Pearl of Transylvania".

Thus, tourists who want to experience an authentic medieval experience, or assist in the battles between knights, medieval dancing or listening to music from hundreds of years, are invited to the Medieval Festival of Sighisoara. The event, arrived at the 23 edition, takes place this year from July 23 to 26.
The theme of the Medieval Festival of Sighisoara 2015 is "Minstrels and Troubadours - five centuries of medieval music and theater". Many tourists take part, each year, at this unique festival in Romania, which takes place in the only medieval citadel in Europe, which is still inhabited.
All this because they are impatient to be part of the medieval stories told on the streets of Sighisoara. The event includes also the sections of medieval poetry or theater, various concerts and exhibitions of medieval costumes.
