In the years immediately following the end of World War II, professor Ana Aslan began to experiment different preparations of procaine hydrochloride to relieve articular diseases. The procaine, in those days, was mainly used only for small dental surgery.
Almost casually she noticed that the administration of this drug, in addition of providing effective relief in diseases object of care, had a series of unexpected side effects: improved general condition of the subject, skin rejuvenation, partial restoration of the natural coloration of gray hair, increased immunity and improved circulation and normalization of pressure.
All this, not sufficiently supported by experimental tests, convinced the Government to commission to Dr. Aslan what became the largest double-blind experiment in the history of medicine: over 16,000 patients suffering from the most various diseases were used as "guinea pigs" to test the drug; the results were stunning and was confirmed the drug's ability to make improvements to the health status of patients.
From that moment it began to be spread in various countries due to its characteristics of "anti-aging elixir" and clinics in Bucharest where the treatment was made began to be frequented by celebrities such as Charles De Gaulle, Adenauer, Marlene Dietrich, Paul Getty, Charlie Chaplin, Pertini, Tito, Silvester Stallone, Kennedy, etc.
Today, despite the ostracism of the large pharmaceutical companies that minimize their effectiveness for obvious commercial reasons, the demand in foreign markets is so strong as to be retrieved with difficulty in Romania.
The drug is marketed in the form of injectable phials and tablets and a cure of a vial plus one tablet a day for two or three weeks, three or four times a year, brings great benefits to the whole body even in the absence of an evident disease.
