Art Safari Bucharest - the largest exhibition of art from Romania, opened wide the doors, transforming the Lipscani artery in the Old Center of the Capital, in a free zone for art

Dacia-Romania Palace, a historic building built in 1880, became the “palace of art” which hosts between 5 to 15 May, a vast exhibition, which includes more than 5,000 works of art in the country and abroad, 5 private collections exposed for the first time and 350 art works, dedicated to the centenary of DADA

New and old galleries, famous artists and young artists, works of art collection and new art works, art heritage, modern art and contemporary art, private collections and elements surprise, all of these will animate the biggest art exhibition in the country, reached at its third edition.

The surprise element of the exhibition is the “Ecorseul”, a work from 1902 of the great sculptor Constantin Brancusi, which came into heritage of the Bucharest University of Arts.

                            

One of the participating private collections is called the “mysterious collection” and contains works by the painter Victor Brauner. Staying with it the special art works signed by Salvador Dali, Tonitza, Luchian. Other important works adorn the walls of the palace, bearing the signature of some famous painters in the country and abroad: Arthur Segal, John Bitzan, Tristan Tzara, Jean David, Georges Brassaï, Jules Perahim, Max Ernst, Hans Janos Mattis-Teutsch, Margareta Sterian, Ion Grigorescu.

Besides the central exhibition and the areas of modern and contemporary art galleries, in the Lipscani area in the Old Town, will be organized all sorts of related activities under Art Safari: concerts, theatre performances, public lectures, debates and conferences, workshops, projections.

There will be an area dedicated to the project The Space, which aims to encourage the young artists, beginners. Even the children will share their specific events, under the name of Art Safari Kids. The Bucharest residents, but also the visitors from the country and abroad of all ages are expected to fill the streets of the Old Town, because will be the arts events for all ages and tastes.
