Valea celor Doisprezece is a corner of paradise located in thecommune of Pârâu Dobreni, in the Neamț district, just 26 kilometers from Văratec Monastery. The road to this magical place is winding, taking you through nature with relaxing scents. After crossing a bridge over a stream and seeing the gate with the inscription "Fam. Buta," you enter a world you wouldn't expect.
Idea and concept of the place
Mihaela and Ionuț Buta, two young entrepreneurs from Neamț, brought to life in Dobreni an unprecedented project, unique in Europe: Valea celor Doisprezece. This fairytale village is composed of a series of half-buried cottages, built by hand with natural materials such as wood, stone, and clay.
The idea came to life in September 2018, aiming to bring back forgotten times, reconnect us to our roots, and offer us an oasis of peace and relaxation. The cottages are plastered with hand-beaten clay, and cement was only used for the stone masonry.
Each cottage is unique, maintaining a constant temperature of 18 degrees Celsius inside throughout the year.
Lighting is done with candles or oil lanterns, and there are no electrical outlets in the cottages, to detach us from routine and rediscover the joy of simple things.
Valea celor Doisprezece is a place where stories intertwine. The cottages, half in and half out of the earth, have round doors and metal chimneys. Here, guests forget about gadgets and reconnect with nature and themselves.
It's a place of inspiration for body and soul, built for rest and relaxation. Every detail is carefully thought out, and the atmosphere is magical.
Activities for all ages
At Valea celor Doisprezece, every family member finds something to do. Children can enjoy the playground, playful animals, and beautiful trails. For adults, there are karaoke facilities and the opportunity to explore the surroundings. Additionally, you can enjoy homemade chicken soup or a glass of wine by the fire.
If you want to explore the area, you can visit Văratec Monastery, Agapia Monastery, or Neamț Fortress. The Bicaz Dam is only 44 kilometers away.
