Trendy places to eat in Cluj-Napoca

Cluj-Napoca is a wonderful city and it is becoming an even more interesting place to live nowadays with all the social and cultural events taking place. Many people have taken the initiative and have been coming up with innovative ideas about all kinds of venues. There are posh restaurants and bars opened up in historic houses, atop buildings or hung over the River Someş. So, when a local is thinking about a place to eat, he/she has to consider the setting, the serving and the atmosphere as well as the quality of the food. 

There are many places that are interesting solely by their location or positioning, there are expensive places where the quality is guaranteed, but there are also cheap, unsophisticated places that nonetheless serve homey, delicious meals.

One of the best places to eat in Cluj is the restaurant Baracca, situated on Napoca Street. The quality of the food is given by the good, local produce that is used, the refined way of preparing it and the exquisite presentation. The place is also very beautiful and welcoming, while the prices are not that high. If you are ever in Cluj, you should not miss this restaurant.

Another fantastic place to eat, which is spectacular not only through its scenery but also through its food is Casa Boema, on 34 Iuliu Maniu Street. The restaurant is located in a beautiful summer garden and the tables are covered by the branches of trees and surrounded by flowers. It is almost like a dream place. The building was erected 180 years ago for Countess Krisztina Bethlen (Kendeffy) and has recently been renovated by architect Corvin Cristian, who is responsible for many other beautiful places in Bucharest.

Finally, if you want to eat or have a beer while you admire Cluj-Napoca from above, you should definitely visit Klausen Burger, located atop the Central Commercial Center on Horea Street. It offers a wide variety of natural beer, of its own production, which has also been awarded in international contests. The food is also very good and remarkably, not expensive.
